Folks living in the US will be pleased to know that the Sony Ericsson Aino is finally launching in that part of the world a few months after its announcement, where it will retail for $599.99 a pop while featuring specifications such as tri-band HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, a 432 x 240 resolution display, an 8.1-megapixel CMOS sensor for its camera to take stunning picks, Remote Play support for your convenience and a microSDHC memory card slot. This ought to shale things up a bit in the market with its rather high-end specifications as this device occupies a niche that few have trod before.

Lenovo IdeaCentre B500 all-in-one computer

You know what comes across our minds as we at the office take a look at the Lenovo B500 all-in-one computer? A stealth bomber aircraft from the USAF, no thanks to the highly angular design that seems to disrupt the harmony in our zen environment. Still, we were told not to judge a book by its cover (or a computer by its chassis), and hence will welcome the IdeaCentre B500 where it is powered by an Intel Core 2 Quad processor, 4GB RAM, a 1TB hard drive, DVD or Blu-ray options and an optional TV tuner with remote control.

Nokia Booklet 3G pre-orders at Best Buy

Best Buy is now accepting pre-orders for the highly anticipated Nokia Booklet 3G, where it will be going for $599.99. Best Buy claims that they will make available both white and blue color options in due time to add to the fun, although there doesn't seem to be any directions that point towards a netbook pre-order that will be accompanied by an AT&T data plan. Should that option materialize, one can expect the Booklet 3G's price to drop to a much more reasonable $299.
Dell now selling a multi-touch monitor for Windows 7
Windows 7, released just yesterday, comes loaded up with built-in touch abilities, meaning that if your computer is touch-capable, you can ditch your mouse. But the chances are good your computer doesn't have a touch screen. So you could either buy a whole new computer, or you could just swap out the monitor for a touch-enabled monitor.
Well, now Dell has plans to sell just such a monitor, a 22-inch LCD that supports one- or two-finger input. This will let you pinch and point your way all over the place. You can grab one for yourself for $469.

RipDev Closed Permanently
If you don’t know them then I’m sure you’ll know some of the apps they’ve made. The first one was Installer which was like Cydia. This was a great app to start with, but only a few months ago was deleted and can no longer be used. Then they came out with Icy which had the same System as Cydia had. It is really quick but I think most people ended up going back to Cydia again. They also have other Apps that some people may know about such as Kate and Push. Well that’s enough history! Sadly for reasons we don’t know about, they have closed there website and will likely be removing there Cydia Repository and some of there Apps pretty soon. So will you miss them? They have did a lot of the Jailbreakers Community and I for one will likely miss some the the new apps they have been making and for there skill in the Jailbreakers world.

Lenovo IdeaPad U150 CULV ultraportable promises 7hr battery
Lenovo’s latest IdeaPad ultraportable has finally got the official nod from the company’s Japanese arm. Yet to show up on the company’s US site, the Lenovo IdeaPad U150 has an 11.6-inch 1,366 x 768 glossy display, 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU2300 processor, 2GB of DDR3 memory (8GB max) and a 250GB hard-drive; there’s no 3G option, at least not in Japan, but you do get WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and gigabit ethernet.
Elsewhere there’s a 1.3-megapixel webcam, two USB 2.0 ports, a combo USB/eSATA connector, both HDMI and VGA and audio in/out. The trackpad recognizes multitouch gestures, and there’s a multiformat card reader and “Dolby Sound Room” speaker technology to try to eke out decent audio from what are likely to be pretty darned compact drivers.
Lenovo claim 7hrs runtime from the 6-cell battery when running Windows 7 Home Premium, and the whole thing is 1.5kg and measures 13.5-34.3mm thick. All that’s left to find out is pricing and US availability; considering the U150 goes on sale in Japan today, along with Windows 7’s official launch, we’re guessing we’ll see the CULV ultraportable sooner rather than later.

How To: Restore Tethering on iPhone
Apple’s recent iPhone update, 3.1.2 firmware, raised some concerns for jailbroken iPhone owners. Initially, 3.1.2 ruined tethering for jailbreakers — but now there is a fix. A hack is available that re-enables your unauthorized iPhone Internet tethering.
Below is a how-to for the fairly complicated tethering restoration process. One thing you should know; an automated version is almost certainly on the way. If you can wait for a simpler way to do this, it would be prudent to do so. For those with less patience, proceed with caution.

Android 2.0 will bring a number of improvements that includes the native support of Microsoft Exchange (contacts are often not synchronized today), the Maps application will display more data, but still does not have pinch and zoom. The web browser is said to be almost as fast as the iPhone 3GS one. In the video department, the integration with YouTube has been improved, especially when it comes to video uploads, which are only 2-clicks away. Security-wise, it is now possible to use a 4-digit code instead of the unlock pattern that some don't like.

Something tells us we will see mods of other colored LEDs in the near future.

ATI brings DX11 to the mainstream

With the Radeon HD 5770 and 5750, ATI has what it takes to win the hearts and minds by introducing DX11-class hardware for less than $160. The cards use a 128-bit bus (versus 256-bit for high-end ones), but they should be able to bring a level of performance that is comparable with the last-generation high-end models, for les power.
The mid-range is a segment where users usually don't care about a small performance difference anyway. In theory, that should mean a lot of design-wins with PC makers currently switching to Windows 7.
These cards are nowhere to be seen at Dell (XPS line) or HP (Elite line). May be the timing was off.
Acer adds dual-core CPUs, Windows 7, and an 11.6-inch model to Timeline series

There will be four Windows 7 base Timeline models available on October 22nd:

- The 13.3-inch AS3810T weighs 3.5 pounds, MSRP of $800
- The 14-inch AS4810TZ weighs 4.4 pounds, MSRP of $650
- The 15.6-inch AS5810TZ weighs 5.3 pounds, MSRP of $650
All models feature dual-core low voltage Pentium CPUs, six-cell batteries good for up to eight hours of use, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 4GB of RAM, and 320GB SATA hard drives. The 14- and 15.6-inch models also come with optical drives.

Nokia’s Booklet 3G is $299 on AT&T
Nokia and AT&T just announced the official availability of the Booklet 3G, Nokia’s Win7 netbook. It will be available on October 22 for $299 with 2-year contract and $60/month data plan.
The netbook, rumored to hit 12 hours of battery life and has and Intel Atom processor, 120GB HDD, 1GB of RAM, WiFi, HDMI, and 3G. The netbook will be sold by AT&T in Best Buy stores.
There’s honestly not much more to say other than godspeed, Nokia, in this endeavor.
These netbooks seems like a nice way to ensure a nice, long revenue stream and, given that the hardware is probably worth about $400, the carrier doesn’t have to eat costs and make it back in the contract with devices like these. The carrier subsidy, it seems, may be dead.
HP TouchSmart Tx2

With the launch of Windows 7, HP has decided to upgrade the software suite that comes with the multi-touch tablet TouchSmart Tx2.
That includes Netflix, Hulu, Twitter and some HP-made applications.
The tablet uses a capacitive screen, a technology which is generally considered by users as "nicer to use".
On the hardware front, this Tx2 is very similar the previous model and starts at $800.
